Last RAW of 2012

I can't believe what I saw just a little while ago. What is WWE doing? They must think this is funny/entertaining. What is entertaining about a 89 year old woman giving birth to a Irish little person??!?!? Sorry I meant baby new year. OMFG. I let a lot of things slide. Last week, Santa got hit by a car. I let that slide, because it was Christmas. But this....I think it broke me. I'm having trouble getting through the rest of RAW. What a way to end 2012. Thank God it's new year's eve. I think I need to start drinking....ALOT.
See ya'll in 2013.

Wrestling Obscurity: Mordecai

I bought my wife the WWE encyclopedia 2nd edition for her birthday. But of course I look through it too. I was flipping the pages and I came across a character that I've been trying to remember for YEARS. Mordecai; also known as Kevin Thorn. Mordecai looked like he stepped right out of a comic book. Even the name sounds like a comic book character. I believe he was on a crusade to rid the world of sin/sinners. Mordecai had a very short run from April 2004 to July 2004. 3 months. I'm not sure why they dropped the character so fast, but they did. Not to worry; Kevin would return as Kevin Thorn the vampire in ECW. A wrestling vampire...not as bad as a wrestling dentist, but not great. But it did last longer than Mordecai.

Best matches of the 2012

2012 is almost over. Can't say that this year has had too many great matches, but then again I've been watching mostly TNA and WWE. Hopefully I can watch more ROH and New Japan in 2013. But here is PWI's list of best matches of the year.

TLC Review

I got some predictions wrong. There's a shocker, but I got most of them right. The bad news was no titles changed hands on a PPV. Sigh. But the good news was we had some pretty good matches. Not a bad way to end 2012. I didn't think that a TLC match that can end on a pinfall or submission would be good but I'm glad I was wrong. It was very good. But I am glad that they didn't make it the last match though. Speaking of which that was a pretty good ladder match between Cena and Ziggler. Looks like they almost, ALMOST took a page out of ROH ladder match book. By that I mean that there was actual wrestling in a ladder match. You don't see that too often in WWE ladder matches. I'd give the PPV a grade of B

WWE TLC predictions

TLC is almost upon us. I'll be watching it and hopefully it will be worth it i.e. some titles change hands. Let's see what we've got (looking at card). I only see 6 matches not including the pre-show match. So there's going to be some filler...oh goodie. Maybe the Rock will make an appearence...? I doubt that, but that would make things better...kinda. Anyway prediction time:

1. Wade Barrett def Kofi Kingston
2. Rhode Scholars def Mysterio/Cara
3. Antonio def. R-Truth
4. Ziggler def. Cena
5. Big Show def. Sheameus
6. Ryback et.al def Shield
7. Tamina to win battle royal

I seriously hope they used my idea I just posted cause it's not looking like a good PPV to end 2012, but we will soon see.

An idea for TLC PPV

I seriously doubt this is going to happen but I had what I think is a good idea. Of course depending on the booking of the show. But what if Dolph cashed in his MITB on the Big Show or Sheameus before the Cena/Ziggler ladder match. Then Dolph would be the new champion. But then the PPV would be short one match. I gotcha covered. The powers to be i.e. Booker T or Mr. McMahon would make Dolph defend his title against John Cena in a ladder match.

Again this probably won't happen, but WWE has to do something exciting to this PPV because the "main event" is lame. No title is on the line...nothing is on the line. Hell No/Ryback vs. Shield in a TLC match were you can win via pinfall or submission...? That's not a main event, that's a mid card match. Did I mention that match was lame...? I did. Oh sorry, but it bears repeating.

TLC predictions coming soon.

TNA reducing PPVs in 2013

TNA is planning on cutting 2 PPVs from 2013 schedule. Full article below.
http://www.examiner.com/article/tna-wrestling-to-reduce-pay-per-view-schedule

Wrestling Obscurity: Blonde Shelton Benjamin

I've mentioned a change of hairstyles before on WO. Here is another one. Shelton Benjamin has not faded into obscurity. He has had a great career with great matches and insane spots. But there was a time were Shelton was calling himself the "Gold Standard" I don't think that made alot of since. Kinda like Billy Gunn calling himself the "The One" Billy Gunn. Both names just seem odd to me. But of course if you are the gold standard you have to have gold or blonde hair. Which means that a black man has to walk around with blonde hair....hmmm. And I think I'm supposed to take him seriously. I didn't. Not sure if too many people did either. But I guess it's not as bad as having a stand up comedian play your mother on TV. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ses8rE7mr6A

NTWA: Edge Spears Jeff Hardy

When people think about TLC, they probably think Hardy's, E&C's, and the Dudleys's epic TLC matches. Defintely hard to top those matches because of all of the crazy spots that happened. All three teams reinvented the ladder match and brought it to new heights. This spot is possibly the craziest and most awesome in TLC history.

CM Punk has surgery

CM Punk had surgery on his knee. He won't be able to compete at TLC. But WWE has a back up plan.

TNA 2012

I can only describe TNA 2012 as a ying/yang. Why do I say that? Because somethings have been really good or really bad. Really good ideas; cashing in the X-division belt for a shot at the Heavyweight belt. Austin becoming champion. Making RVD X-division champion. Making Samoa Joe TV champion.  BFG series. Open fight night, and gut check.
Now the really bad ideas: AJ Styles/Claire storyline, Aces & Eights, Madison Rayne crushing on Earl, Eric Young marrying ODB. Still no real X-division.
I also don't understand why Hogan has to decide an opponent for a champion. Just 1 opponent? Why not have 3 or 4 way matches?
As you can see TNA has done some creative things in the past year. But sometimes...alot of times the good is overshadowed by the bad. And there has been a lot of bad...oh boy. But there has been a lot of good too. So I think TNA is on a good track, they just need to do less stupid stuff. How hard can that be?

Chris Jericho 2012

This will be a short entry. Chris came back in a strange way first there was the creepy promo. You remember. The one with the kids. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjCPNGlGUf8
That was...different. But that's ok. The first RAW of the year Jericho came back. What is he going to do? What is he going to say? Nothing....and would continue to say nothing for a couple of weeks. And when he FINALLY said something. He stated that he was going to win the Royal Rumble. But did he? Nope. He had a match at WM for the WWE title. Did he win? Nope. He was in a MITB ladder match. Surely he would wi...nope. What the hell?!?! Well he did beat Ziggler at SummerSlam..oh goodie....
I'm not sure why Chris came back, I thought something would happen. He had some good matches. He was in some ok storylines, but nothing spectacular but he didn't win a title. As a fan I was disappointed in his return. Hopefully he won't be like certain stars who show up whenever they want to.

WWE 2012 Continued

This year has not been a good year for John Cena. Defintely a lot of failures and short comings. Now we're at the end of the year and John finds himself in a storyline with AJ and Vicki and...Dolph? Which I don't think makes any sense. How could AJ be fired for an inapropriate affair and then the person who takes her place is Vicki, who could be biased toward a certain wrestler ie. Dolph because they've had a relationship for years now? Is there a TNA writter on WWE staff, or do the 2 companies trade writers every now and then. I'm getting off track, back to Cena. Like I said, John hasn't really done much this year. And I mean that as far as lossing big matches, unable to cash in MITB for a title, and being stuck in bad story lines.

That brings me to Kane. Who started off 2012 as the "Devil's favorite demon" that wanted us to embrace hate, bring John Cena over to the "darkside." and made Zack Ryder's life hell. That was all well and good. I really did enjoy that storyline, but somewhere along the way. The devil's favorite demon got into a "relationship" with AJ Lee....? Which led to a feud with D. Bryant and eventually both Kane and D. Bryant went to anger managment and became the tag team champions.....? Huh? What?
Remember when I said D Bryant was acting like Daffy Duck, well I guess Kane is the Bugs Bunny in this analogy. So in 2012 Kane went from a demonic mad man terroizing Zack, Eve, and John Cena to 1/2 of a comedy duo that resemble looney tune characters....words escape me.  I think I need a drink a nice STRONG drink.

Next up Chris Jericho 2012, and TNA 2012

WWE 2012

2012 is almost over, soon a new year will be here. But before 2013 gets here let's look back on WWE in the past year. This year hasn't been as good as 2011. I'm sad to say. 2011 had some really good matches and moments. 2012...well there were good matches and some great matches, but as far as entertainment. I think this has been a slow year. Which it didn't start out that way. It had great potential. Case in point this clip from Monday Night Raw a year ago.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cm+punk+daniel+bryan+zack+ryder&oq=cm+punk+da&gs_l=youtube.3.1.0l10.27046.33843.0.36421.12.11.1.0.0.0.328.1734.2-6j1.7.0...0.0...1ac.1.lvf5bCXETdM
You had CM Punk as champion, which is all well and good, but then there were the other 2. The underdogs who you could get behind, cheer on and believe in. Zack Ryder made the US championship mean something again. And Daniel Bryant, just on his wrestling ability alone deserved to be champion. Fast forward 12 months. Where are they now? CM Punk is now heel.  Preaching, whinning, and demanding respect. Zack Ryder is back where he was 2 years ago. And D. Bryant as evolved or devolved into a version of Daffy Duck. Just replace rabbit season/duck season with yes and no, and you'll see what I mean.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=rabbit+season+duck+season&oq=rabbit+season&gs_l=youtube.3.0.0l10.665086.669523.0.672304.15.10.1.4.5.0.282.1377.0j1j5.6.0...0.0...1ac.1.tNElFW_ZHV0
What the heck happened?

Next time I'll talk about John Cena and Kane.

CM Punk on the Talking Dead

For those who don't know. The Walking Dead is a show on AMC about people surviving the zombie apocalypse  There is another show called "Talking Dead" that follows the "Walking Dead." In which they discuss the events of the new episode of the "Walking Dead." Well for some reason, CM Punk is going to be on the "Talking Dead." I don't know who the other guest will be. Probably a producer or director of  "The Walking Dead." I don't know why CM Punk is going to be on the show, maybe he's a fan.

Wrestling Obscurity update

2013 is nearly upon us as a result I will be changing my cut off date for WO. In the past, I have focused on events that have occured from 2000-present. That will change come Janurary. I won't look back as far. Probably not past 2003 or 2004. Hopefully I can stick with my own rules.

Wrestling Obscurity: Judas Mesias

Maybe it's not fair to put TNA wrestlers in WO. TNA seems to have a revolving door when it comes to its roster.  Some stay for a long period of time i.e. James Storm, AJ Styles etc. And  some stay for a short period of time trying to make an impact in that time, but alot haven't and have been forgotten, as far as TNA goes. I'm focusing on Judas because I saw "Best of TNA 2007" DVD and he was on the list of the people to watch in 2008.  For those who don't remember. Judas was Abyss' "brother" or half "brother." James Mitchell was Abyss' manager. Abyss would later turn his back on Mitchell. So Mitchell got someone else...Judas, to terrorize Abyss. Oh did I mention that Mitchell is Abyss's "father"? Sorry for the spoiler. Abyss and Judas have a series of matches and even have a barbwire match. Not a bad feud, regardless of how silly the storyline was. This happened in the later part of 2007 and early 2008. Unfortunately Judas was released in March of 2008. So I guess when they said watch this guy in 2008. They meant just the winter of 2008, not the whole year.

WWE Survivor Series quick review

I thought popped in my head this morning. Could Survivor Series have been better? I don't know. I think so, nothing REALLY big happened. And it was kind of predictable. I twitted that I didn't think any titles would change. Unfortunately, I was right. A new champion could've made the PPV better. Some matches could've either been better or ended better i.e. Sheameus vs. Big Show. I can't really say that there was a great match in the whole PPV. Overall good matches, but nothing spectacular. I'd give it a grade of C.

Wrestling Obscurity: Dolph Ziggler's new hairstyle

Now that Dolph is a lone survivor and a money in the bank winner. We must never forget when Dolph tried something different. A new look if will. Now why did he do it? I have no idea. New look, new opportunities? Maybe, but the look didn't last long.

WWE Survivor Series idea

I can't take credit for this idea. This idea came from my wife. Now I don't call her a genius often, but she came up with a great idea last night. There should be another survior series tag match, but this one will be a mixed tag match. Sin Cara/Rey Mysterio/Tyson Kidd/Justin Gabriel/Natyala vs. Primetime Playas/Epic&Primo/Rosa or Aksana. I thought it was a good idea for two reasons. 1. Survior Series should have more than 1 Survior Series match. 2. I don't remember if there has ever been a mixed survior series team, so they would be making history. How cool would that be?.

WWE taking things too far?

It doesn't happen often and I guess this is up for debate, but sometimes WWE takes things to far. Case in point; Last nigt Paul Heyman faked a heart attack in the ring. Making fun of Jerry Lawler.  Now I know it's supposed to be "entertaining" but I think it's poor taste. Given the fact that Jerry was clinically dead and that other wrestlers have died from heart failure. This is not really something that can be made fun of. Joking about it, is not funny. If anything it's cruel. I personally think that Cole had a problem with it because if you look at his expression or his body language. He looked uncomfortable and disintrested in what was happening in the ring. He barely said anything during that segment. I don't know, but sometimes I think they, WWE take things too far.

NTWA: Jerry Lawler returns to RAW

Not really alot to say about this one. Everyone knows the story about Jerry Lawler suffering a heart attack on 9/10/12. Thankfully he is still with us and returned to Monday Night Raw last night. How awesome is that?

NTWA: Summerslam 2011 Christian vs Randy Orton

Sorry to say but here is a feud I got tired of, but damn if they didn't have some great matches. I think they had 5 matches in the summer of 2011. However many,  all of them were very good to awesome. I don't know why but they had such great chemistry in the ring. Maybe because all their matches were very back and forth. No one had control of the match for too long, or because they would counter moves all the time. If I remember right they tried to steal one another's finishing move. I haven't seen that in a LONG time. I can't say this is the best match they had, but this match and the ending were nothing short of awesome.

I could only find a highlight video, sorry.

NTWA: Christian Cage vs Kaz ladder match

Here's a match I didn't think that was going to be a very good match. I don't know why I thought that. Both are great wrestlers in their own right, and it's  a ladder match. Cage does great in those matches. Maybe I was depressed at the time or I was pretty sure that Cage was going to win this one easy. I was so wrong. Kaz and Cage worked great together. I don't remember them having a feud, but maybe they should have. Regardless, this match was an awesome match and should be remembered in TNA history as one of the best ladders matches.

Wrestling Obscurity: The angry Miz girl

Who out there remembers the angry miz girl? Ok. She wasn't a wrestler or a manager. But she had the best reaction to a heel becoming champion, EVER. Her face says it all. I was never sure if she was anti-miz or pro-orton...maybe both. Either way she was pissed. No, I mean REALLY pissed. I'm sure other kids felt this way, but they didn't get caught on camera showing their disgust and hatred for what took place that night on RAW.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxu-MBDC_kI&feature=fvwrel

NTWA: CM Punk's mic gets cut off

I'm sure alot of people who look at this blog have already seen the CM Punk DVD. And I realize that alot of NTWA features CM Punk. That is not intentional at all. But the things that he has done in the past year...ok really in 2011, were very awesome. It really drew me in and I really couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. That was 2011, before this promo. I can't really remember a "rant" like this. He mentions ROH, Paul Heyman, Colt Cabana, calls out Vince and his family. It was surreal. At the time I couldn't tell if he was supposed to say that or not...I'm STILL not sure. Guess I should get the DVD. Anyway this was shot of adreniline that a fan like myself needed. Not to say I was getting bored with WWE, but it did feel like there weren't any big surprises, no game changing events, no pushing the envolope. And then THIS happened. After the "shoot" I thought "Ok now you have my full attention." Any event/wrestler that grabs your attention is nothing short of awesome!!

NTWA: Mike Awesome vs Masato Tanaka ECW One Night Stand 2005

ECW: One Night Stand was one of the best PPV of 2005 and this match is definetly one of the reasons and is the last ECW DVD I bought. If you  are a fan of hardcore matches or the old school ECW. This match is for you. Tables, Chairs...no ladders, but it has Masato and Mike Awesome. Two men who were awesome to watch back in the day. Mike Awesome was a very gifted wrestler. He did things that most big men couldn't or wouldn't do or even think about doing. Masato also great in his own right, who had been in some great matches in Japan and USA.
Why do I think this match is awesome? Well I do like the old school ECW and this match reminds me of some of those great matches back in day. But that aside, it's really a good back and forth hardcore match. I honestly don't think they can pull this off anymore in TNA or WWE...maybe ROH.

NTWA: Shane McMahon vs Kurt Angle KOTR

Shane vs. Kurt. I was very surprised that this match was as good as it was. I really didn't think that Shane had any skill to put on a great match, but I was DEAD wrong. This match has been talked about for a long time and for good reason. It never seemed like anyone was in control of the match for very long. It was a lot of back and forth...until Shane got tossed through the glass two times. But this is one of my favorite matches of all time. It is simply awesome.
Unfortunately I'm not able to find the entire match on the internet. I'm sure it's out there somewhere, but this highlight reel is the best that I found. Enjoy.

NTWA: Sweet Chin music to Rey Mysterio in mid air

I don't know where I was when this match was aired on TV, because I've never seen it before. I was just searching youtube for random wrestling clips and I stumbled onto this piece of awesome footage. I guess WWE or Shawn Micheals thought it was pretty cool, so they or he decided to do it again. First it was Shelton Benjerman, then Shane McMahon, and now Rey Mysterio.

Wrestling Obscurity: Vito

I'm not sure that many people remember Vito in the WWE or in ECW. But he was a pretty good wrestler especially in ECW.  He was in WWE for about 2 years. I don't remember much about his run in the WWE...except for one thing. He wore a dress. Yes a dress. He was a straight man, who liked to wear dresses to the ring and wrestle in them. That seemed ridiculous to me. I mean who would wrestle in a dress? The divas don't even do that...at least not most of the time. It was odd, but that was probably the point and for a little while it gave him an angle to work with, which is more than some current wrestlers have. Yes I'm looking at you 3MB. Regardless, Vito's dress wearing days have been forgotten and faded into obscurity.

NTWA: Low Ki vs Amazing Red

I'm not really sure when this match took place. I think it happened in 2002 or 2003. Either way this is one of the those dream matches that you don't think you'll see EVER. The back and forth between these two is crazy. Both are probably known for high flying, but they can grapple as well. If you are a fan of either Low Ki(Kaval), Amazing Red, or both you have got to see this match. It is amazingly awesome!!

NTWA: Trouble in paradise to the miz

The title is "Now that was awesome", but it should be changed to "Damn, that looks like it hurt." Of course if you have seen WWE in the last week. You probably have seen Miz get kicked in the head by Kofi Kingston...twice. But the first time on RAW was...um...painful to watch. Thankfully the Miz didn't get a concussion, but he did get a cut above his eye.

The worst stables in wrestling history

There have been many stables/factions in wrestling. Some were really good and launched the careers of certain wrestlers i.e. The Rock, Triple H etc. But of coures with the good comes the bad. Now I have my own biases towards stable. I feel that a stable shouldn't be too big or too small. The number should be between 4-6 members in a stable. They should be fairly domininant, by that I mean have more than 1 title. They should make an impact, be entertaining, have good feuds and last for a good amount of time (>6months). But there have been some that fell flat or just lasted WAY too long to be entertaining or intresting. Here is a list of the worst stables in wrestling history.

1. X-factor(WWE)
2. The Mexicools(WWE)
3. Straight Edge Society(WWE)
4. The Immortals(TNA)
5. Aces & 8s (TNA)
6. The New Breed(WWECW)
7. World Ellite (TNA)
8. The Corre (WWE)
9. 3MB(WWE)
10. Disciples of Apocalypse(DOA) (WWE)
11. Los Boricuas (WWE)

Wrestling Obscurity: Mexicools

Mexicools...now there was a stable, which quickly became a tag team because 1 of the members was released from WWE. The premise was 3 well known wrestlers; Juventud, Super Crazy, and Psicosis were a band of latin wrestlers that were tired of the sterotypes surrounding Latin Americans/Luchadors. And of course they would come down to the ring driving riding lawnmowers and wear matching overalls....wow. Anyway moving on. Juventud was released by WWE 6 months after the trio had formed, making the remaining 2 wrestlers a tag team. Unfortunately they didn't win a tag title, but as a trio, they did have some feuds with Paul London, Brian Kendrick, FBI and a few others. As individuals, the three wrestlers have had some great matches in Mexico and USA, but like the Un-Americans. The Mexicools failed to make an impact and have faded into obscurity.

Top 8 wrestling finishers

I've taken a look at the best finishers from ROH, WWE, and TNA. And I've seen a few from New Japan and AAA. Some are really cool, and I'm sure very dangerous, but which ones are the best? Which moves look like they could put an opponent down for a 3 count? It's hard to make a list of just 8 finishers that fit that description. It would be easier to make a top 20...but that's not as much fun. To make it easier on myself, I'll make some rules for this list. Once again no submission finishers, sorry. No tag team finishers, sorry, no finishers involving a foreign object, and no top rope finishers.

NTWA: Christian Cage vs Rhino 8 mile street fight

Bound for Glory has had some pretty great matches and this is one of the them. BFG 2006 Cage vs. Rhino, 8 mile street fight. Now this was a pretty good feud between these two. "Former" best friends who now can't stand each other. Basic storyline in pro wrestling. And if I remember correctly this was the last match that these two had in TNA....of course I could be wrong. But if it was, it was a great way to end the feud.

NTWA: Rhino piledrives jeff hardy

Bound for Glory was a couple of days ago and I was thinking what awesome matches have there been on the BFG PPV. Well I searched and it didn't take long for me to find it. Monster's Ball. There was an awesome match. If you like hardcore matches that is. The finish was insane. I mean who would want to be piledriven from the second rope? Nobody, but that's what happened to Jeff Hardy.

TNA Bound for Glory review

Well another BFG has come and gone. How was it? I thought it was pretty good. Alot of titles changed hands. Which is what I want in a PPV, for the most part. The big surprise. Devon is the leader of Aces and Eights. I'll admit it, I didn't see that coming. But I did say that Bully wasn't the leader. So I was right. LOL

Best Match: 3 way tag team match
Worst Match: Al Snow vs. Joey Ryan
PPV overall: B

TNA Bound For Glory Predictions

Is it that time of year again? Looks like BFG is upon us once again. How does the card look? (Looking over card).  Not too bad. I'm looking forward to the 3way tag team match. What else? (Looks at card) Al Snow in the ring...again? Hmmm. Well, we'll see what happens. Let's get to the predictions.

First, I don't think that Bully is the leader of Aces and Eights. Why? Too obvious. I'm going to give TNA a little more credit than that. Have they earned it....? No, but I think/hope they have learned from their mistakes. Who is the leader of Aces and Eights? I don't know. It would be nice if it were Anderson or C. Daniels. I hope it's no one stupid.

Al Snow vs. Joey Ryan.
As a member of the 87% I'm pretty sure this one will go to Ryan.

Samoa Joe vs. Magnus
I'll go with Samoa Joe to retain his title

Tara vs Tessmacher
A title should change hands tonight. This should be one of them. So I'll take Tara FTW

RVD vs Zema Ion
I really want RVD to win, then maybe they(TNA) will do more with the X-division, but I think Zema Ion will retain...sigh

Styles/Angle vs. Daniels/Kazarian vs. Hernandez/Chavo
This is a hard one to call...I actually want Hernandez/Chavo to win....hmmmm. Hell, why not? Hernandez/Chavo FTW

Storm vs. Roode Street fight
This should be one of the best matches of the night. I say that because last time Storm faced a former tag partner in a street fight. It was one of the best matches of the year...in my opinion. Who's going to win? It had better be Storm, damn it LOL

Bully/Sting vs. Aces and Eights
The leader should be revealed...should, but like I said it won't be Bully...I hope, but that aside Aces and Eights will win.

Jeff Hardy vs. Austin Ares
Another hard one to call, I feel that Ares hasn't been champion long enough. However the title should change hands, if this is TNA's biggest PPV of the year. I'll pick Ares FTW.

Wrestling Obscurity: The Un-Americans

I'm pretty good at remembering things about wrestling. Wrestlers, storylines, gimmicks, etc. But this entry and the last entry, have me scratching my head. Because I don't remember this group at all. I know the individuals. Christian, Lance Storm, Test, and William Regal. But them as a stable? I can't remember at all. But as the name of the group suggests they were Anti-Amercians. Which helps when you have 3 Canadians, and 1 Brit in your stable. The year was 2002 when the Un-Americans were around. Which sounds a little dangerous to have an Anti American stable around less than year after 9/11. But WWE did it anyway and surprisingly enough Lance and Christian were tag champs. They had a feud with Golddust and Booker T, and had a championship match at SummerSlam 2002.  The group also attempted to burn the American flag, on more than 1 occasion...Did I mention that this took place less than a year after 9/11? Not long after SummerSlam, the group disbanded after lossing the tag team titles. The individuals of this group, have defintely made an impact in wrestling, but as a stable? The Un-Americans didn't leave much of an impact and have faded into obscurity.

NTWA:AJ Styles vs Jerry Lynn vs Low Ki Triangle Ladder Match

It's hard to believe that this match took place 10 years ago. This is when TNA or NWATNA was in it's infancy. Back then the X-division regined supreme. Now? Not so much, but back then it had great matches and this is 1 of them. If you haven't seen this match you really should. It maybe the greatest ladder match in TNA's history. I never saw a 3 way ladder match before this one. I always thought that was a good idea but I didn't think that someone would actually do it. But NWA-TNA did and they did it in an awesome way.

Wrestling Obscurity: Rodney Mack

Rodney Mack....who the hell is Rodney Mack? I can't say I remember him at all. I was reading his wiki page and nothing was rining a bell. No pun intended. I had to do a little more research on youtube, to see if anything jarred my memory....and nothing. Apparently he was managed by Teddy Long, he was part of Thuggin and Buggin Enterprise, and Mack competed in a series of challenges called "white boy challenges." This is were Rodney would take on any white boy and beat him in 5 min or less. When did this occur? According to wikipedia it was 2003. I'm at a lost for words. Please tell me there is more, because this doesn't look good at all. I mean, he didn't win any titles. He didn't have any real feuds.  It seems like he was just in WWE for 2 years and then just faded into obscurity.

Top 9 off the top rope finishers

Looks like I've been in a listing mood lately. I guess I'm having fun figuring out which moves are cool and exciting to watch. Obviously everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, and I'm sure some disagree with my previous lists and will probably disagree with this one too. But nevertheless, here is my top 9 off the top rope finishers.

1# 620 splash (Jack Evans)

NTWA: Jerry Lynn vs. Amazing Red

I don't know how it happened, but I haven't talked about Amazing Red yet. How'd that happen? Obviously if you've seen Red in action, you know that he deserves to be mentioned on NTWA. If you haven't seen Red and like high flying style of wrestling. Then you have got to look him up.
There are many matches to choose from but I think I'll go with the first match I saw with Red. I didn't start watching TNA until 2004. So I had some catching up to do via DVD. On that DVD, was a Jerry Lynn vs. Amazing Red. I didn't know what to expect, but the match is simply awesome.

Top 9 WWE submission finishers

Previous top 9 lists didn't include submissions. Honestly, that was to keep the other lists to just 9 moves, but now to remedy that. Let's take a look at what I consider the best submission finishers in WWE.

Why I like John Cena

I don't think I'll get any hate comments for liking John Cena, but it could happen.  There are a couple of reasons why I like Cena. 1# John Cena is not a bad wrestler. I don't understand why people think he can't wrestle. Cause he does the same moves..? So does Randy Orton, Christian, AJ Styles etc. He has changed his game over the years and can get creative at times ie leg drop from top rope. 2# He has good mic skills, that's been clear from nearly day one and as a result he's entertaining to listen to. 3# He does make-a-wish requests all the time. Anyone who is willing to help children, especially sick children. Has my respect.

The era of the big man in WWE

I've been wanting to write about this for a while now. It's just an observation, not necessarly true. Is it me or does there seem to be less big men in WWE? Don't get me wrong, there are still plenty of big guys from Ryback to Kane, but as far as who gets more TV time. It seems that the "average" to smaller guys get more mic/tv time. The Miz has his own talk show, Dolph is always on TV, CM Punk is the champion and  Daniel Bryan is...in a horrible stroyline, but he's still on TV.
It seems more big guys aren't performing as well or aren't getting the fans excited enough as the "smaller" guys. Examples would be Mason Ryan, Ezekiel Jackson, Tenzai, Jack Swagger and maybe Brotus Clay. Which is definetly a change in WWE, cause it used to be the smaller guys hardly got anytime or were the lower card, or dark match. Which I'm sure still happens, heck look at Yoshi Tatsu, Tyson Kidd, and Justin Gabriel, but as far as main event or mid card. It looks like the "smaller" guys have taken those spots.

NTWA: MCMG vs Generation Me

MCMG and Gen Me. Now there was a rivalry. Two tag teams that had great matches. Their feud could've been better if they battled for the titles. If I recall correctly Gen Me didn't have the tag team gold while in TNA, which is sad. But I'm not going to talk about that. Today I'll talk about the empty arena match...more like fight, cause there is no one there except the wrestlers and cameramen. No crowd, and no refree. This match overall is good, but probably not necessarily in the awesome category. However, in my opinion there is one awesome part of the "match." It's at the end were, Max Buck(i think that's the right one) will not give up and actually spits in the face of MCMG, even though he is clearly beaten. Very awesome moment between 2 great tag teams.

NTWA: Hell in a Cell

The Hell in a Cell PPV is coming next month. Now I don't know about everyone else, but when I think Hell in a Cell. I think about the infamous Hell in the Cell; Mankind vs. The Undertaker. It's kind of strange, because that wasn't the first Hell in the Cell match. The first one was Shawn Micheals vs. The Undertaker. I know they call it a wrestling match, but there really wasn't a whole lot of wrestling moves, like a suplex for instance. The match was insane and still is if you watch it again. Mankind got thrown off the cage, not once but twice (OMG). You think that would be enough, but no. Then a little later in the match they used thumb tacks...WTF. I guess using fire would have been too much...This match was not just awesome it was crazy and insane.

NTWA: Bret Hart and Shawn Micheals

I haven't been posting Nowthatwasawesome(NTWA) for long...ok not long at all. I wrote that this article would be about awesome moves and/or matches. Well, sometimes I don't stick to my own script (typical). But with that said, this article won't focus on a match that Hart and Micheals had, but instead will focus on the night of 1/4/10. Hard to believe, that this happened nearly 3 years ago, but that was the night in which Bret Hart returned to Monday Night Raw. Not only did he return, but he and Shawn Micheals buried the hatchet and made peace after 12 long years. It wasn't a match, but it still was awesome.

NTWA: CM Punk leaves WWE and invades comic con 2011

Once upon a time(last year) CM Punk was a fan favorite. No really, he was. Back in 2011, CM Punk and John Cena had one of the best storylines/feuds in years. CM Punk, the challenger, took on the champ John Cena for the title at MITB. The catch, CM Punk's contract was up that Sunday, so if he won he would take the WWE title with him...but were would he go? How about Comic-con in San Diego? Why not? Apparently he had plenty of fans at Comic-con.

Wrestling Obscurity: Armando Estrada

Not too long ago, I posted a link to youtube that showed Braden Walker's time in WWE/ECW. I just looked at the clip again yesterday. Then I saw someone I haven't seen in years. Armando Estrada. I remember Estrada...kinda. I do remember he was the GM for ECW for  a little while and then became a wrestler. What else? Oh yea,  he was Umaga's manager. That's about all I can remember. Whatever happened to him? Surprisingly enough I found out that he was on WWE Superstars last summer managing Tyson Kidd. But that was a 1 time thing...at least on tv/internet. He was under contract with WWE until July 2, 2012.

Saved by the bell "star" a wrestler???

This story doesn't have anything to do with WWE, TNA, or ROH, but I had to post it cause it made me die laughing.

WWE night of champions results and review

Below is the link to the results of last night's PPV.
http://www.wwe.com/shows/nightofchampions/2012/night-of-champions-2012-results-26051704

The PPV overall wasn't too bad. There were two really good matches. Ziggler vs. Orton and CM Punk vs. John Cena. I do wish that Ziggler/Orton match was for a title or maybe the MITB briefcase, but it was still a good match. The main event was awesome. I'm going to have to put on the list for match of the year. Just wish it ended differently(A draw, seriously?). If I made predictions before the PPV. I would have gotten the Divas match wrong...very wrong. Overall I'd give the PPV a B-

Latest update on Jerry Lawler

Jerry Lawler is completely off sedation and is now breathing on his own without the help of any breathing tube.
Lawler is still very weak and has been asked to rest his body and not speak to allow his body to recuperate and adapt after everything he's been through.
Lawler has been given breathing exercises to help his lungs after several days of being on ventilation.
Lawler's girlfriend posted on her Facebook account, "I know everyone wants to speak to him and hear him...just know that he is doing great now and when the time comes for him to call and talk he will..I promise! Also, the rumor statutes that he was brain dead or had brain damage is completely FALSE. His CT scan of his brain came back NORMAL & he is just fine! Thanks again everyone for your love, support, and powerful prayers!! I will be bringing the King back home before you know it! :)"

Jerry Lawler's son gives an update

Brian Christopher's update on his father Jerry Lawler:

"Okay, here’s the latest real update. Lauren and I are here at the hospital in Montreal. He does not look good at all. He is responsive to questions that he is asked which is very good. His sedation and breathing support are being lowered slowly right now. He was shocked a total of seven times at the arena and underwent a balloon stint to open up a clogged artery when he arrived at hospital. Everyone out there needs to say a special prayer for his brain at this point, please. Tests on his brain will not be available until the morning. One of us two will keep all you guys informed as we know more.”

TNA: No Surrender predictions

Today is not only someones birthday, but it is time for TNA No Surrender and it's time for predictions.
Let's see the card:
World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries challenges anyone from Aces & Eights
Bound For Glory Series Semifinal: Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe
Bound For Glory Series Semifinal: Bully Ray vs. James Storm
The Bound For Glory Series Final: TBD vs. TBD
Tag Team Championship: AJ Styles & Kurt Angle vs. Christopher Daniels & Kazarian
Magnus vs. Rob Van Dam
X Division Championship: Sonjay Dutt vs. Zema Ion
Knockouts Championship: Tara vs. Miss Tessmacher

Card doesn't look bad, but we'll have to see how the matches go. I'll start with the knockouts; I think. Tessmacher def. Tara
Zema Ion def. Sonjay Dutt
RVD def. Magnus
Daniels & Kaz def. AJ Styles and Kurt Angle
Samoa Joe def. Jeff Hardy
James Storm def. Bully Ray
James Storm def. Samoa Joe
Austin Ares  def. someone from aces & 8s probably via DQ. Possibly Aces and 8's will "injure" Ares again.

NTWA: Austin Aries vs. Low Ki vs. Zema Ion vs. Jack Evans

I believe I said this was the best match of 2011. If it wasn't it was definitely in 2nd place. Once a year TNA decides to showcase their X-division. I say once a year cause that's what they have been doing for the past couple of years. But that's a discussion for another day. Let's talk about the 4 way match at Destination X 2011 with Austin Aries, Low Ki, Zema Ion, and Jack Evans. Pretty much this match was good from bell to bell. I saw spots and moves, that I have never seen before, and I have been watching pro wrestling for a long time.  If you like inovation and high flying this is the match for you.

NTWA: Mick Foley vs. Edge WM 22

Wrestlemania 22 is my favorite wrestlemania, period.  There are many reasons, but we'll just look at one reason. Edge, the Rated R superstar vs Hardcore legend Mick Foley in a hardcore match. Before this match started. I didn't know what to expect, but I didn't expect thumb tacks, barb wire, or a flamming table. I guess I went into the match with no wild expectations. Which can be a good thing. As a hardcore match, it delivered. And the ending? Was nothing short of awesome.

Top 9 WWE bad guys (heels)

This will be a fun list. It will also be a hard list to keep to just 9 wrestlers. If I exclude managers, tag teams, and female wrestlers. That'll make it easier, but it's still difficult. And I'm sure alot of people would disagree with my top 3. But the list should be made up of wrestlers, who REALLY pissed off the crowds or the people watching at home.  Here is my  list of the wrestlers who we love to hate.

#1 Vince McMahon (He was WWE champion, he counts)
#2 Million Dollar Man
#3 Mr Perfect
#4 Edge
#5 HBK
#6 Chris Jericho
#7 Randy Orton
#8 Sgt. Slaughter
#9 JBL

Now that was awesome(NTWA): Eddie Guerrero becomes champion

What can I say about Eddie, that hasn't already been said. Definitely one of the greatest wrestlers ever. I remember this match very well. I was watching the PPV with my friend at the local Hooters (don't judge) and before the match started. I thought that there was no way Eddie would become champion. I mean look at Eddie, then look at Brock Lesnar. Who would you pick to win ? Exactly. But as the match went on I started to believe that Eddie could actually win this thing. I went from "No way he can win" to "Come on, Eddie. I believe in you" LOL. I'm exaggerating...but only a little. But I guess I wasn't the only one who felt that way. You can tell the audience at the PPV believed it to. And when the audience reacts that way, you know that the two wrestlers have had an awesome match...or produced an awesome outcome.

NTWA: Brock Lesnar superplexs Big Show breaking the ring

Hard to believe that it has been almost 10 years, but on Smackdown June 12, 2003. Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show was the main event. Not a bad match, but the ending is what made this match memorable. Remember when Mark Henery superplexed the Big Show and broke the ring a couple of years back? Well, that wasn't the first time Big Show broke the ring.

Wrestling Obscurity: The New Breed

Watching RAW the other night got me thinking about all the other times CM Punk has turned heel in WWE. Which has happened many times and then I remember a certain stable he was part of. No not that stable. Nope not that one either. I'm refering to "The New Breed." Ah, "The New Breed," Back in 2007, This stable was part of the new ECW(WWECW). Young new talent,  (Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker, Kevin Thorn, and Ariel) looking to make a name for themselves and to show up the "older" talent of the ECW orginials (RVD,Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu). It wasn't a bad feud. They had some entertaining matches...from what I can remember, but it didn't have the feel of two strong stables going head to head and making history in the processes. CM Punk later joined the New Breed, but not to make them better, but to tear them apart from the inside. And that's what happened. From a writing stand point, it was very intresting, because it hadn't been done before...at least not that I can remember. But as a stable the New Breed didn't leave much of an impact or a memory.

NTWA: Sweet Chin Music to shelton benjamin

Monday Night Raw; so many memories. The good, the bad, the ugly, and the awesome. Now I don't remember which episode or even what year this clip is from. But I do remember this moment and you could argue that it was the best sweet chin music EVER.

WWE Top 9 Finishers

I was going to post this BEFORE my TNA list, but I forgot to. Oh well I'm only human.. Just 1 rule for this list, no submission finishers. That will be another list. Anyway here's my list of the top 9 WWE finishers.

NTWA: CM cashes in MITB on Edge

Back in 2008, there was actually a division between RAW and Smackdown.(somewhat). Both shows had their own champion, kinda like now, but neither show had BOTH champions. But on the previous PPV, Edge became or retained the World Heavyweight champion...but he was drafted to Smackdown and the WWE champion was already on SD. So RAW doesn't have a champion? What's gonna happen to the RAW brand without a champion? Thankfully, Edge came to RAW to gloat and leave the brand, but Batista and CM punk had other ideas.

Now that was awesome: Shooting StaRKO

Now this installment of NTWA, is special to me because I was there live when it happened and it was VERY awesome. I was in Lexington, KY for Monday Night Raw on 7/12/10. I can't remember much about the whole show, outside of 1 of the members of the Brady Bunch hosting the show and Doink the clown being there. I swear I thought I saw Doink, hopefully I imagined it. But what I didn't imagine was possibly the best F*N RKO I had ever seen. Now that was AWESOME

Wrestlewiththis: Now that was awesome

I had an idea for a new "segment" for the blog. Welcome to "Now that was awesome" Here I'll talk about moves or matches that were...well, awesome. Let's take a look at TNA's PPV Turning Point 2004.
AMW vs. Triple X in a six-side steel cage. The stipulation was the team that lost had to disband and never tag again. Great match with an awesome move from Elix skipper.

Top 9 female wrestlers

I said awhile ago that I was going to make a list of my favorite female wrestlers. Yea that was like last year and I never got around to doing so....until now. The list will be made of female wrestlers that I've seen, so that leaves out May Young or the Fabouls Moolah. No disrespect to them, but I haven't seen them wrestle in a competitive match. We'll put them in very honorable mention cause without them and other female wrestlers from that time period. I wouldn't be able to make this list.

#1. Awesom Kong (Kia Michelle Stevens)
#2. Sara Del Ray (Sara Amato)
#3. Gail Kim (Gail Kim)
#4. Ayako Hamada (Ayako Valentina Hamada Villareal)
#5.Victoria/Tara (Lisa Marie Varon)
#6. Beth Phoniex (Elizabeth Kocianski Carolan)
#7. Lita (Amy Dumas)
#8.Trish Stratus(Patricia Anne Stratigias)
#8.Natyala Neithart(Natalie Neithart)
#9.Taylor Wilde(Shantelle Larissa Malawski)

Wrestling Obscuirty: Big Show rap verse

I found out that AW was released from WWE for making a bad joke about the Kobe Bryant rape case a few weeks ago.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydHOworuwWY

Now I am not defending what AW said. I do feel that he should have been punished in some way, not sure if he should have been fired. Why was he fired? I'm not really sure, supposedly it's because Linda McManhon is trying to run for a political position (again) and AW's comments could be used against Linda's political campaign. I don't know. But I do find it odd (hypocritical)  that AW was fired, but nothing happened to the Big Show when he made a comment about the Kobe Bryant rape. AW said whatever came to his mind, but the Big Show? Hell, Big Show used it in a rap battle with John Cena back in 2003.

TNA story lines

Let me start by saying that TNA puts on some good matches and has some great talent. Plus I really like the BFG series. I say that, because I don't want readers to think that I hate TNA all together. I don't. It has good quatlities and bad qualities. Just like any other company. Now that I've got that out of the way. Let's talk about these storylines. I don't know what there titles are so I'll just make up some.

"AJ, you are not the father" storyline. This story line went on way too long it should have ended @ Destination X PPV. But no it had to go on and on and on. Don't forget, this started with AJ having an affair with Dixie Carter. But he wasn't,  they were both protecting Claire (who?) and she was their secret.  But then, later on Claire sides with the heels(Daniels/Kaz) and proclaims that AJ is the father of her child. So AJ has a paternity test done and the results were supposed to be revealed, but no. Claires' lawyer comes down issues a statement, that she(Claire) was never pregnant and this WHOLE thing was a plan to blackmail and smear AJ's reputation. So if she wasn't pregnant, how did they have results from a paternity test? And when did this plan start? So many plot holes(more like caverns). Thankfully it's over....I think.

"Aces and 8s" storyline. Not really a lot to say about the storyline, because we don't know who they are, what they want, or who their leader is. Last night things got weird. How many members are there? It seemed like they had a small army fighting the TNA roster. I thought there were like 5 members. Where did the rest of the mob come from? Also, they could've been unmasked last night. One guy actually was. Who was he? I have no idea. Is this going to go on until BFG? That's October. I don't want to wait that long for this....big reveal. However it could be good if one of the final 4 members of the BFG series is the leader of Ace's and 8s. And he uses them to win the title. That could work. We'll see what they do.

WWE SummerSlam review

Another SummerSlam has come and gone(sigh), but how was it? Well it defintely started off well with a very good match between Ziggler and Jericho. Then it kinda went downhill. I'm not saying that matches weren't good or entertaining, but I think Ziggler and Jericho set the bar high and it didn't seem that other matches could acheieve that level, except for Miz vs. Rey. That was a very good match also. But I think most of the matches were just good, and maybe not PPV quality. No titles changed hands. That's kind of dissappointing. However the US championship did change hands, but that was on the pre-show....sigh.  Overall I give the PPV a grade of B-

WWE SummerSlam 2012

So it's that time again. Time for some predictions for this years' Summer Slam. It is  7:36pm and the pre show is starting.  I think Antonio will win, but...I don't think it'll happen. So I'll go with Santino to retain.
Miz to retain his IC title against Mysterio

Ziggler def. Jericho
Bryan def. Kane
Lesnar def. HHH
Shemaeus def. Del Rio

Wrestling Obscurity: Simon Dean

I haven't done a WO in awhile. I must be running out of wrestlers (LOL). Let's talk about Simon Dean for a moment. Surely you remember Simon and his trademark Simon System. Maybe you remember him coming down to the ring on a segway, ok that part you can forget. But Simon's (Mike Bucci) character was mixture of Tony Little and Richard Simons. A fitness trainer who is better than everyone because he works out, takes care of his body and treats it like a temple unlike all the fat, out of shape slobs in the audience or watching on TV. Did that last sentence bore you? I got bored writing it. Maybe that's why the character didn't catch on. He was heel(obviously) but not a very good one, or not a very intresting one.
Before he was in WWE, Bucci was in ECW as Nova(cool name). Bucci has "retired" from pro wrestling, but he has done matches on the indy circuit and TNA.

WWE Best Finishers

WWE is coming out with a DVD that has the top 50 best finishing moves. Ive only glanced at the list. I didn't see any finishing moves that I would consided being on that list ie. Rikishi's Stinkface. But I haven't seen the DVD and I'm sure all of the finishers that you can think of are on the DVD. Now that I think of it. I've been blogging for a little over a year now and I don't think that I've actually made a list of the best finishers. I did a list of the worst finishers in WWE(that was fun) awhile ago. I'll think about it and I'll make my own list of top WWE finishers. And while I'm at it, I think I'll make a list of the best heels as well.

Where are they or where have they been?

After watching WWE the past few months, I realized some people were gone for awhile. With no explanation of what happened to them. So I did some research and found out where people are.
1. Evan Bourne; After 2 suspensions for wellness violation. Bourne was in a car accident, in March were he   suffered a broken foot.
2. Randy Orton; Orton suspended for 60 days for talent wellness violation
3. Mark Henery; Mark had surgery, and recently touted that he hopes to return soon.
4. Great Khali; In July, Khali had surgery to remove a tumor on his pituitary gland.
5. Mason Ryan; On July 24, 2012 it was reported that Mason Ryan requested for time off, but was denied, as he also signed a 3 month contract extension.
6. Rey Mysterio; 8/22/11 Mysterio suffered an in-ring injury at a house show and was expecting to remain out-of-action with an injury inflicted by Alberto Del Rio following a match.  On April 26, 2012, WWE reported that Mysterio had been suspended for 60 days due to his second violation of the company's Talent Wellness Program policy and that his suspension would expire on June 25,2012.

WWE Money in the Bank

Unlike TNA, WWE is willing to announce their card BEFORE the PPV. Never the less, it's time for some predictions for this years MITB PPV.

Let's start with the WWE Championship MITB match. I know there is only 4 guys to choose from. I think I will go with Jericho to win, probably not a good choice. He hasn't won it yet and I think he has been in more MITB matches than either of the other 3 wrestlers(I could be wrong). But, I don't think Cena or Big Show will win and Kane has already won MITB before so logically (LOL) Jericho should win.

World Heavyweight Championship MITB match. Well...I know who I would like to win (Christian), but I don't think that will happen. Ummm let's see....Tyson Kidd?!?!? Where in the hell did you come from? He's in this match...WHAT? Sorry got off track. I'm gonna choose...wait a tick. Santino?!?! How in the hell?!?! Okay, screw it. My pick for this match is Dolph Ziggler....(Really?)

WWE Championship: Well Punk has had the title for a while and it is REALLY hard to tell where they are going with the whole "AJ being crazy" thing. I don't see her screwing over Punk...I don't know. The whole thing is confusing. I'm going to say that she would call it right down the middle because that would be the least expected thing to happen. So I guess my pick is CM Punk.

World Heavyweight Championship: Not much to say about this one. Ricardo will probably try to interfere and get kicked or punched in the face. Alberto will try to capitalize but won't be able to pull it off. So my pick is the Great White Sheamus (that nickname is awful).

What's next....ummm. I think that's it. That can't be right. Obviously there is going to be more or those matches mentioned above are going to be 40-45min each.  Cool idea, more than likely not going to happen.  I'm going to take this time to aplogize to TNA cause apparently neither company announce their entire PPV card. I guess we are all going to be surprised...hopefully the good kind of surprise.

TNA destination X review

Destination X just ended. How was it? Pretty good overall, definitely worth the price of the PPV.  Had some good matches and a great main event. Won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but it was one of the best matches this year. Also the last man standing match between AJ and Daniels was great. The ultimate X match was good, not great but good. Would have been better if Sonjay hadn't gotten injured, because before that happened the match was very cool. And for those who don't know Jesse Sorenson made an appearance and cut a promo saying that he would return, become the X division champion, and eventually be a heavyweight champion. We shall see if that happens, we shall see.

TNA X-division

It's been a couple of days since the last Impact. Just giving a few thoughts about the X-division tournament. So far I like it, they had some good talent and some good matches. Which hopefully will lead up to a good PPV. My only complaint is, why can't it be that way all the time?? Having young talent, relatively unknown talent, show what they can do. Also the weight limit thing has got to go. If you have a good mix of bigger guys and smaller guys you can have really good matches. I wouldn't think it would be that difficult. Maybe I'm wrong about that, seeing that TNA doesn't really showcase the X division except for 1 month out of the year.(which sucks BTW)

July PPVs

Unless something happens, I plan to watch Destination X and Money in the Bank PPVs in July. These two have been very good PPVs in the past...hopefully that will continue this year. Stay tuned for predictions and recaps of those upcoming ppvs.

Matches of the year...so far

The year is a little more than half way done and I can't say that there have been a lot of great matches this year. Here is my list of matches of the year...so far. 1) Undertaker vs. HHH Wrestlemania 28 2) Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy Lockdown 2012 3) Steen vs. Richards

thoughts and comments

Well it has been awhile since the last blog post. I have to admit I havent been watching a lot of PPV. I was told that extreme rules was good, but it didn't seem like it would be. I also haven't been watching ROH. I've just been reading some updates. Which I REALLY want to see their last ippv. The card looked great. Anyway some thoughts about wrestling and recent changes. Soon Raw will be 3 hours long. Which I think is too much. WCW did that back in the day and I don't think that worked out for them all that well. I could be wrong about that. And could WWE do something with their divas? Anything? Please. TNA...oh TNA. TNA seemed like it was headed in the right direction and there are weeks that I think, that they are on the right track, but then they go off the rails. The AJ Styles/Dixie Carter story could be done alot better...or not at all. Austin Aries possibly giving up his Xdivision championship just to face Bobby Rhoode. For any champ to give up his or her championship is absurd. If her/she is injured and has to forfiet the belt, that's completely different. So let's say Austin gives up the belt. What happens to the Xdivision title? A tournament? Or a rumble match? Who the hell would be in it? Alot of Xdivision talent is either injured(Jesse Sorenson, Chris Sabin) or they left the company (Alex Shelly). So who is left? I guess they will let us know later. One good thing is that the BFG series is back. I liked the series last year. It seemed to give guys that had been over looked a chance to step up. Hell if it wasn't for the BFG series Bobby Rhoode and James Storm wouldnt be main eventing now. But things aren't all good with the BFG series. You have to look up the rules of the BFG series on TNA's website. This sounds a little lazy of me but, how about you just explain the rules on TV. What if I never saw TNA before? And never heard of the BFG series. I think you would explain the rules. I don't think it would take that long.

TNA Lockdown 2012

It's hard to believe that it's been a year since last Lockdown. I was there in Cinncy and it was pretty cool and not a bad PPV. Because Lockdown is one of TNAs better PPV. Ive decided to order this years Lockdown. Now I wish that they would have advertised the card better. I say that because, they have almost every title on the line tonight. Which is kinda cool. Hopefully some will change hands. We will see. Since there is not much time before the PPV. I'll just give some quick predictions.
1. Devon def. Robbie E
2. Criminson def. Matt Morgan
3. Velvet Sky def. Gail Kim
4. Eric Young/ODB def Sarita and Rosita
5. Magnus/Joe def MCMG
6. Team Garett Bishcoff def. Team Eric Bishoff

This week in wrestling

This apparently was the week of returns and debuts. Obviously, the Rock returned and was able to defeat John Cena at WM....yay. Let's see who else? Prince Albert is back, well they didn't call him that. Now he is Lord Tenkai, I guess that's what he was called in New Japan promotion. Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriquez are back and apparently he wants the World Championship title. I thought he was on the RAW roster. Ah, who cares? There really isn't a difference between SM and RAW anymore. Staying with WWE on Smackdown Skip is also back...well RyBac. I have no idea who he beat up, but he looked alot better than what he did when he was with Nexus.
Switching to TNA The Motor City Machine Guns are back. YAY!!!! TNA defintely needed them back hopefully it will spark the tag team division. I do wish the Young Bucks or Generation me would come back to TNA, maybe one day.

Terri's Wrestlemania Predictions

Cena v Rock
I predict: Rock
I want: Cena

Orton V. Kane
I predict: Kane
I want: Orton

Show v. Rhodes
I predict: Rhodes
I want: Big Show

Team Teddy v. Team Johnny
I predict: Team Johnny
I want: Team Teddy

Divas Tag Match
This is a dumb match. The belt should have been up for grabs. And who is that guest star. I predict: Who cares!!!!

D. Bryan v. Sheamus
I preditc: Sheamus
I want: Sheamus

CM Punk v. Jericho
I predict: CM Punk
I want: CM Punk

HHH v. Taker
I predict: Taker
I want: Taker

Wrestlemania 28 predictions

Let's get started. Even though it's a dark match. I think I'll start with.
The 3 way for the tag team championship. It would be kind of good if the Usos won, but I don't think the title will change hands. So I'll take Primo&Epico for the win.

2# Divas tag match: Ummm well Beth, hasn't lost a match in forever, but they do have their "celebrity" in this match and I don't think a celebrity has ever lost at WM (probably wrong). So I'll go with KK and Maria Menounos(who?).

3# Randy Orton/Kane: Well I don't know about this one. They did a descent job building up this match. I think Randy Orton will win, why? I just have a feeling.

4# Big Show/Rhodes: Before this match they never talked about Big Shows WM losing streak. I think he is 1-8 at WM. I don't know how I feel about Big Show becoming IC champ, but Cody has had the belt for too long now and it's Big Shows time. So I'll go with Big Show for the win.

5# Team Teddy/Team Johnny: Personally I want Johnny off tv. Just for the simple fact of his mic skills or lack there of. Did you see RAW last week? He messed up HIS OWN TEAM NAME!! Johnny do you not know what team you are on? Psst...you're on team Johnny. Everyone makes mistakes. Hell if you keep reading I'm sure I'VE missed spelled a word or two...or three. Sorry I'm ranting. I pick Team Teddy aka the band of misfit toys.

6# Sheamus/Bryan: I don't think D. Bryan can pull off another victory. Sheamus is HHH's boy, so more than likely he will win. But it should be one of the best macthes of the night...should. Sheamus for the win

7# Jericho/Punk: This match should be great. Alot of back and forth, counters, near falls. It should be up there with Macho/Steamboat. Yes, I said it. Will it be? I can only hope. Who will win? My pick CM punk.

8# HHH/Undertaker: I'm really looking forward to this match. It should be better than last years. Just for the fact that it's in the cell and HBK adds another element to it. Will Undertaker pull out the victory? Of course, is there any doubt? (just a little)

9# Cena/Rock: Finally! We can get this over with. These two have done nothing but talk talk talk talk talk. Entertaining? Yes it has been. But no one has laid a finger on the other since...Survior Series(i think) That is WAY too long. In past story lines, they had to have a stipulation that the guys couldn't fight before the match or else. I'm cool with that, but here? No stipulation, they've been dancing around for 4+ months now. It had better deliever, damn it. Sorry I'm ranting again. The winner? John Cena

Thank you for reading and enjoy the show!!!!

Wrestlemania 2012

It's hard to believe that is that time of the year again. WM is almost upon us. It doesn't feel like a year since Rock and Cena started butting heads, but then again Rock hasn't been around that much in the past year. Maybe thats the reason why it feels shorter than a year. I don't know. Lets look at the overall card. Not a bad card for WM, nothing silly like Snooki or Donald Trump this year. Thank God. Maybe Teddy and Johnny will "duke it out" I hope that is not the case. I am disappointed that they didn't build up the title matches as much as they could have. They're kind of an after thought to the other big draw matches. Cena/Rock and HHH/Undertaker. I do think they will be good matches and I REALLY want to see HHH/Undertaker, but I REALLY want to see Punk/Jericho as much, if not more, because I think that match has the most potiential from just a pure wrestling stand point. 2 guys 1 belt no cage/ladder required. Speaking of wrestling why isn't Natalya on this card, and why isn't she going against Beth for the title. Those are the 2 best in the company right now(my opinion) and could have a good-great match, but nope. Beth has to be put into a tag team match. Do you care about that match? I know I don't and I don't think WWE does either. If the match is less than 5min from bell to bell. Then we will know that no one including the bookers give a damn about the divas.
That's enough ranting, predictions are coming up.

TNA Victory Road PPV results

The results are in. Most of my predictions came true, except for the TV championship changed hands. Devon is the new TV champion...? Sure, why not?
But other than that, the other titles didn't change hands. They did set up a feud with Crimson and Morgan, which should result in a match @ Lockdown. Which sounds good. Speaking of Lockdown. Im not sure how they are going to have Lethal Lockdown this year. Right now there aren't any feuding factions...hell there aren't ANY factions in TNA or WWE. But I do plan on watching the PPV in April WM and Lockdown. So stay tuned for those upcoming predictions and results.

TNA Victory Road

I will not be watching Victory Road PPV. Reasons? Well I don't think that it'll be worth the money. Victory Road hasn't been TNA's strongest PPV. We all remember what happened last year, don't we? My predictions? I predict that no titles will change hands. Now I could be wrong, this PPV could have impact...in a good way. And I think that the card is good, but I'm not will to pay $$$ to find out.

Wrestling Obscurity: Candice Michelle

It has been awhile since the last WO. Now I don't believe Candice has become obscure...yet. She is headed in that direction. Which is too bad because she wasn't a bad wrestler/performer. She wasn't on par with Trish Stratus or Lita but she did get better and better at her craft. But unfortunately injuries and possibly insecurities piled up and Candice got less and less TV time and was eventually released from WWE in June 2009.

Royal Rumble-Terri Predictions

Bryan v. Henry v. Big Show
Daniel Bryan will win although he won't pin anyone (at least not by his own strength). I'm starting to truly loathe him so I wish one of the big guys would squash him like a bug but I don't think that will happen.

CM Punk v Zolph Ziggler
Although they have been pushing Ziggler, I just can't agree that my favorite PPV of the year will be spoiled by him winning, LOL. I take Punk but not by pin. Ziggler will get DQ'd. (Thanks Vickie.)

Kane v Cena
I hate this "rivalry". One bold prediction I will make will be that Undertaker will return tonight. No true winner in this match.

Royal Rumble Match.........aaaaaahhhhhhhh, my FAVORITE match all year. It's actually one of my favorite things in life. :-) I have no idea though who will win!!! I'm just excited to see it!

Royal Rumble 2012 predicitions

The RR is in a couple of hours, so I suppose it's time for predictions. I am going to make a list of people I think will win the RR. Don't worry I'll keep it to a list of 5 possible winners.

So what's on the card, Mark Henry vs. Big Show vs. D. Bryant. For those who don't know Mark Henry hyper-extended his knee on SD, but as far as I know he is going to wrestle tonight, but may not do a lot. So he's not going to win. That leaves Big Show and D. Bryant. I can see D. Bryant escaping the cage, while Big Show and Mark Henry duke it out. So I'll go with D. Bryant to retain his title.

Who's next?(Goldberg?)Of course not; We've got CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler. Now I like Dolph as a wrestler, he's got the physical talent and he is growing as an interesting character being the show off and all, but as a WWE champion? I don't think so...then again that would give Vicky's "faction", I use the term loosely, both single's belts...No, I don't think Dolph will pull it off. I'll go with CM Punk FTW.

Kane vs. John Cena...ummm who cares? lol. I'm kidding. Actually this storyline might be leading up to Cena turning heel, just in time for him to face The Rock at WM. I think this match will end on a DQ, with John Cena attacking Kane with a weapon of some kind, more than likely a chair.

Last but not least the RR. Originally I thought that Randy Orton was going to win the RR, but with his recent injury I'm not sure now. I would like Christian to be there, from what Ive read there is a 50% chance he'll be in the match. I don't know if people in previous matches on the card will participate in the RR. I haven't read the possible surprise appearances, because I don't want to spoil the surprise (lame). What can I say? I like to be surprises that's what makes the RR exciting. Anyway here are the 5 people I think will win the RR.
1. Chris Jericho
2. The Miz
3. Randy Orton
4. Christian(hell of a long shot)
5. Sheamus

Wrestling obscurity: Basham Brothers

It has been awhile since the last WO. I thought it would be a good way to start the new year. So let's take a look at the Basham Brothers...who? I do remember the Bashams but just barely. I don't remember them being champions but they were. 2 time champions actually. What did they do? Apparently they hung around JBL, when JBL had a stable. Yea I don't remember that either. They probably were good wrestlers too, but just didn't leave much impact on the wrestling/tag team world. Here is some info on their carerr in the WWE.

Basham and Hollie made their official WWE debut on the May 29, 2003 edition of SmackDown! and became known as The Basham Brothers. Since both wrestlers looked remarkably similar to each other despite not being related, they were booked as kayfabe twins. The Bashams were successful in their first match as a team, defeating Rikishi and Brian Kendrick. Shortly after this Shaniqua became their valet. Their gimmick was originally that of two S&M fans, with Shaniqua as their trash-talking dominatrix. To play off their role as twins, Basham and Hollie often switched places mid-match, so the "fresher" wrestler was always in the ring, this idea was later used by The Bella Twins.

The Bashams won their first WWE Tag Team Championship from Los Guerreros on the October 23, 2003 edition of SmackDown!. The team would go on to lose the titles in February 2004 to Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty. The Basham Brothers and Shaniqua faced Scotty 2 Hotty and Rikishi at the No Way Out pay-per-view in 2004 in a handicap match for the tag team titles but lost the match when Shaniqua was pinned, and after the match she was released from her contract leaving the Bashams without a manager. For the next few months the Basham Brothers were regulars on Velocity. Occasionally they appeared on SmackDown!, usually taking on upper midcard/main event level wrestlers in handicap matches, generally losing in the outcome.

The Basham Brothers would go on to join John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL)'s cabinet stable on the November 25, 2004 episode of SmackDown!, where they were known as JBL's "Co-Secretaries of Defense". Their role was often to sacrifice themselves to prevent Layfield from getting harmed after he had provoked an opponent. The Bashams would once again win Tag Team gold defeating the teams of Rey Mysterio and Rob Van Dam, Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak, and Eddie Guerrero and Booker T in a four-way elimination match in January 2005. The Basham Brothers lost the titles to Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero at No Way Out 2005 on February 20. From here on The Bashams would either be jobbing on SmackDown! or defeating any team that came in their path on Velocity. The Basham Brothers quit Layfield's Cabinet on the June 16, 2005 episode of SmackDown!, claiming that they were tired of being "JBL's crash test dummies" and not getting enough respect.

The best matches of 2011

Through 2011, I kept track of what I thought were the best matches of the year. Unfortunately I have not seen the last ROH iPPV...yet. I'm sure there are some contenders for match of the year on that card and if so I will update this list, but until then I will give you what I consider to be the matches of the year. Keep in mind I am a little biased toward the high flyers and "daredevil" style of wrestling.

5. WWE Raw (1/3/11): Miz vs. John Morrison for the WWE Championship
4. ROH 9th Anniversary: Christopher Daniels vs. Eddie Edwards for the TV Championship
3. Money in the Bank: John Cena vs. CM Punk for the WWE Championship
2. SummerSlam: Randy Orton vs. Christian for the World Heavyweight championship
1. Destination X: Austin Aries vs. Zema Ion vs. Low Ki vs. Jack Evans
