NTWA: MCMG vs Generation Me

MCMG and Gen Me. Now there was a rivalry. Two tag teams that had great matches. Their feud could've been better if they battled for the titles. If I recall correctly Gen Me didn't have the tag team gold while in TNA, which is sad. But I'm not going to talk about that. Today I'll talk about the empty arena match...more like fight, cause there is no one there except the wrestlers and cameramen. No crowd, and no refree. This match overall is good, but probably not necessarily in the awesome category. However, in my opinion there is one awesome part of the "match." It's at the end were, Max Buck(i think that's the right one) will not give up and actually spits in the face of MCMG, even though he is clearly beaten. Very awesome moment between 2 great tag teams.

NTWA: Hell in a Cell

The Hell in a Cell PPV is coming next month. Now I don't know about everyone else, but when I think Hell in a Cell. I think about the infamous Hell in the Cell; Mankind vs. The Undertaker. It's kind of strange, because that wasn't the first Hell in the Cell match. The first one was Shawn Micheals vs. The Undertaker. I know they call it a wrestling match, but there really wasn't a whole lot of wrestling moves, like a suplex for instance. The match was insane and still is if you watch it again. Mankind got thrown off the cage, not once but twice (OMG). You think that would be enough, but no. Then a little later in the match they used thumb tacks...WTF. I guess using fire would have been too much...This match was not just awesome it was crazy and insane.

NTWA: Bret Hart and Shawn Micheals

I haven't been posting Nowthatwasawesome(NTWA) for long...ok not long at all. I wrote that this article would be about awesome moves and/or matches. Well, sometimes I don't stick to my own script (typical). But with that said, this article won't focus on a match that Hart and Micheals had, but instead will focus on the night of 1/4/10. Hard to believe, that this happened nearly 3 years ago, but that was the night in which Bret Hart returned to Monday Night Raw. Not only did he return, but he and Shawn Micheals buried the hatchet and made peace after 12 long years. It wasn't a match, but it still was awesome.

NTWA: CM Punk leaves WWE and invades comic con 2011

Once upon a time(last year) CM Punk was a fan favorite. No really, he was. Back in 2011, CM Punk and John Cena had one of the best storylines/feuds in years. CM Punk, the challenger, took on the champ John Cena for the title at MITB. The catch, CM Punk's contract was up that Sunday, so if he won he would take the WWE title with him...but were would he go? How about Comic-con in San Diego? Why not? Apparently he had plenty of fans at Comic-con.

Wrestling Obscurity: Armando Estrada

Not too long ago, I posted a link to youtube that showed Braden Walker's time in WWE/ECW. I just looked at the clip again yesterday. Then I saw someone I haven't seen in years. Armando Estrada. I remember Estrada...kinda. I do remember he was the GM for ECW for  a little while and then became a wrestler. What else? Oh yea,  he was Umaga's manager. That's about all I can remember. Whatever happened to him? Surprisingly enough I found out that he was on WWE Superstars last summer managing Tyson Kidd. But that was a 1 time thing...at least on tv/internet. He was under contract with WWE until July 2, 2012.

Saved by the bell "star" a wrestler???

This story doesn't have anything to do with WWE, TNA, or ROH, but I had to post it cause it made me die laughing.

WWE night of champions results and review

Below is the link to the results of last night's PPV.
http://www.wwe.com/shows/nightofchampions/2012/night-of-champions-2012-results-26051704

The PPV overall wasn't too bad. There were two really good matches. Ziggler vs. Orton and CM Punk vs. John Cena. I do wish that Ziggler/Orton match was for a title or maybe the MITB briefcase, but it was still a good match. The main event was awesome. I'm going to have to put on the list for match of the year. Just wish it ended differently(A draw, seriously?). If I made predictions before the PPV. I would have gotten the Divas match wrong...very wrong. Overall I'd give the PPV a B-

Latest update on Jerry Lawler

Jerry Lawler is completely off sedation and is now breathing on his own without the help of any breathing tube.
Lawler is still very weak and has been asked to rest his body and not speak to allow his body to recuperate and adapt after everything he's been through.
Lawler has been given breathing exercises to help his lungs after several days of being on ventilation.
Lawler's girlfriend posted on her Facebook account, "I know everyone wants to speak to him and hear him...just know that he is doing great now and when the time comes for him to call and talk he will..I promise! Also, the rumor statutes that he was brain dead or had brain damage is completely FALSE. His CT scan of his brain came back NORMAL & he is just fine! Thanks again everyone for your love, support, and powerful prayers!! I will be bringing the King back home before you know it! :)"

Jerry Lawler's son gives an update

Brian Christopher's update on his father Jerry Lawler:

"Okay, here’s the latest real update. Lauren and I are here at the hospital in Montreal. He does not look good at all. He is responsive to questions that he is asked which is very good. His sedation and breathing support are being lowered slowly right now. He was shocked a total of seven times at the arena and underwent a balloon stint to open up a clogged artery when he arrived at hospital. Everyone out there needs to say a special prayer for his brain at this point, please. Tests on his brain will not be available until the morning. One of us two will keep all you guys informed as we know more.”

TNA: No Surrender predictions

Today is not only someones birthday, but it is time for TNA No Surrender and it's time for predictions.
Let's see the card:
World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries challenges anyone from Aces & Eights
Bound For Glory Series Semifinal: Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe
Bound For Glory Series Semifinal: Bully Ray vs. James Storm
The Bound For Glory Series Final: TBD vs. TBD
Tag Team Championship: AJ Styles & Kurt Angle vs. Christopher Daniels & Kazarian
Magnus vs. Rob Van Dam
X Division Championship: Sonjay Dutt vs. Zema Ion
Knockouts Championship: Tara vs. Miss Tessmacher

Card doesn't look bad, but we'll have to see how the matches go. I'll start with the knockouts; I think. Tessmacher def. Tara
Zema Ion def. Sonjay Dutt
RVD def. Magnus
Daniels & Kaz def. AJ Styles and Kurt Angle
Samoa Joe def. Jeff Hardy
James Storm def. Bully Ray
James Storm def. Samoa Joe
Austin Ares  def. someone from aces & 8s probably via DQ. Possibly Aces and 8's will "injure" Ares again.

NTWA: Austin Aries vs. Low Ki vs. Zema Ion vs. Jack Evans

I believe I said this was the best match of 2011. If it wasn't it was definitely in 2nd place. Once a year TNA decides to showcase their X-division. I say once a year cause that's what they have been doing for the past couple of years. But that's a discussion for another day. Let's talk about the 4 way match at Destination X 2011 with Austin Aries, Low Ki, Zema Ion, and Jack Evans. Pretty much this match was good from bell to bell. I saw spots and moves, that I have never seen before, and I have been watching pro wrestling for a long time.  If you like inovation and high flying this is the match for you.

NTWA: Mick Foley vs. Edge WM 22

Wrestlemania 22 is my favorite wrestlemania, period.  There are many reasons, but we'll just look at one reason. Edge, the Rated R superstar vs Hardcore legend Mick Foley in a hardcore match. Before this match started. I didn't know what to expect, but I didn't expect thumb tacks, barb wire, or a flamming table. I guess I went into the match with no wild expectations. Which can be a good thing. As a hardcore match, it delivered. And the ending? Was nothing short of awesome.

Top 9 WWE bad guys (heels)

This will be a fun list. It will also be a hard list to keep to just 9 wrestlers. If I exclude managers, tag teams, and female wrestlers. That'll make it easier, but it's still difficult. And I'm sure alot of people would disagree with my top 3. But the list should be made up of wrestlers, who REALLY pissed off the crowds or the people watching at home.  Here is my  list of the wrestlers who we love to hate.

#1 Vince McMahon (He was WWE champion, he counts)
#2 Million Dollar Man
#3 Mr Perfect
#4 Edge
#5 HBK
#6 Chris Jericho
#7 Randy Orton
#8 Sgt. Slaughter
#9 JBL

Now that was awesome(NTWA): Eddie Guerrero becomes champion

What can I say about Eddie, that hasn't already been said. Definitely one of the greatest wrestlers ever. I remember this match very well. I was watching the PPV with my friend at the local Hooters (don't judge) and before the match started. I thought that there was no way Eddie would become champion. I mean look at Eddie, then look at Brock Lesnar. Who would you pick to win ? Exactly. But as the match went on I started to believe that Eddie could actually win this thing. I went from "No way he can win" to "Come on, Eddie. I believe in you" LOL. I'm exaggerating...but only a little. But I guess I wasn't the only one who felt that way. You can tell the audience at the PPV believed it to. And when the audience reacts that way, you know that the two wrestlers have had an awesome match...or produced an awesome outcome.

NTWA: Brock Lesnar superplexs Big Show breaking the ring

Hard to believe that it has been almost 10 years, but on Smackdown June 12, 2003. Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show was the main event. Not a bad match, but the ending is what made this match memorable. Remember when Mark Henery superplexed the Big Show and broke the ring a couple of years back? Well, that wasn't the first time Big Show broke the ring.

Wrestling Obscurity: The New Breed

Watching RAW the other night got me thinking about all the other times CM Punk has turned heel in WWE. Which has happened many times and then I remember a certain stable he was part of. No not that stable. Nope not that one either. I'm refering to "The New Breed." Ah, "The New Breed," Back in 2007, This stable was part of the new ECW(WWECW). Young new talent,  (Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker, Kevin Thorn, and Ariel) looking to make a name for themselves and to show up the "older" talent of the ECW orginials (RVD,Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu). It wasn't a bad feud. They had some entertaining matches...from what I can remember, but it didn't have the feel of two strong stables going head to head and making history in the processes. CM Punk later joined the New Breed, but not to make them better, but to tear them apart from the inside. And that's what happened. From a writing stand point, it was very intresting, because it hadn't been done before...at least not that I can remember. But as a stable the New Breed didn't leave much of an impact or a memory.

NTWA: Sweet Chin Music to shelton benjamin

Monday Night Raw; so many memories. The good, the bad, the ugly, and the awesome. Now I don't remember which episode or even what year this clip is from. But I do remember this moment and you could argue that it was the best sweet chin music EVER.

NTWA: CM cashes in MITB on Edge

Back in 2008, there was actually a division between RAW and Smackdown.(somewhat). Both shows had their own champion, kinda like now, but neither show had BOTH champions. But on the previous PPV, Edge became or retained the World Heavyweight champion...but he was drafted to Smackdown and the WWE champion was already on SD. So RAW doesn't have a champion? What's gonna happen to the RAW brand without a champion? Thankfully, Edge came to RAW to gloat and leave the brand, but Batista and CM punk had other ideas.

Now that was awesome: Shooting StaRKO

Now this installment of NTWA, is special to me because I was there live when it happened and it was VERY awesome. I was in Lexington, KY for Monday Night Raw on 7/12/10. I can't remember much about the whole show, outside of 1 of the members of the Brady Bunch hosting the show and Doink the clown being there. I swear I thought I saw Doink, hopefully I imagined it. But what I didn't imagine was possibly the best F*N RKO I had ever seen. Now that was AWESOME
