WWE and TNA 2014 year review part 3

After WM, WWE went in a different direction. Probably due to injuries. Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett, Ryback. Plus they fired alot of people too. Alberto del Rio, Drew McIntyre, the real Sin Cara etc.
Maybe the later is because of the launch of the WWE network. I don't know if that is true. It would be odd if they fired alot of people very shortly after the network was launched. And it wasn't launched all around the world. So the network not being "successful" is reason to get rid of personnel? Doesn't make sense to me. But let's move on to the rise and fall of 2 Paul Heyman guys. Brock Lesnar and Cesaro.

Let's start with Cesaro. I thought after WM 30. That Cesaro would get more of a push. Being a Paul Heyman guy and all. But really nothing changed for Cesaro. His robe changed color, he added a bigger towel and got new entrance music. But as far as winning more matches or championships. Not so much. Hell I think he lost more matches with Heyman than without him.  Which is too bad cause he's one of the best wrestlers in the WWE.'

It's no secret. That I am not a fan of Lesnar being champion. Not because I don't like him. But because he's a part timer. He has missed a couple of PPVs and several RAWs. So we've been without a champion on TV for longer than I care for.  But WWE wants him to be their guy. Maybe he's got a movie coming out....? I don't know. But I do know that Seth better cash that MITB contract in sooner rather than later. Cause he only has until July. Which sounds far away, but Lesnar may show up 5-10 times between now and then.

WWE and TNA 2014 year review part 2

The yes movement. Possibly the best audible that WWE has done. With no CM Punk. Daniel Bryan took his place. He didn't win the Rumble but he found his way in to 2 matches at WM 30.  Again great writing and it was the best option. Fans wanted Bryan to be champion and they would get it. More on that later.

Let's move on to the WWE tag team division for a second. There's something that's new a tag team division. And a good one? Wow. Just kidding WWE has had a pretty descent tag team division. Especially with the factions that they've had in the last year. Surprisingly enough. They didn't play hot potato with the tag team titles, like they did in the attitude era. They haven't had new tag teams. They did put two wrestlers together and give them a name, that doesn't make a tag team in my opinion. Tag teams should have chemistry and work well together. Rybaxel didn't have any of those things. The Rhodes brothers worked well together, but didn't go together because they were so different. Until, Star Dust was born and joined Gold dust in a tag team. Now they are both on the same page. A weird page, but it works and they are champions.

This year they have had great tag team matches/feuds. The Usos and Wyatts, The Wyatts and The Shield. Gold/Stardust and the Usos and of course 3MB. 3MB? I guess I have to count them. They were a faction/tag team. I don't think they won a match all of 2014. I'm probably wrong about that. Anyway let's move on to WM 30.

WM 30. Possibly the best/worst WM in awhile. Why do I say that. Well let's start with the good. The opening was fantastic, with Hogan, Austin, and The Rock. Great stuff. It would've been better if Bret Hart and Shawn Micheals joined them. But we didn't have time for that. Staying on the positive side; D. Bryan had 2 good matches and became champion. AWESOME. But then we have the worst part. Of course that would be Brock Lesnar def. The Undertaker. For no good reason. So disappointing.

WWE and TNA 2014 year review part 1

It has been an interesting year.  I guess every year is interesting with highs and lows. Wrestling is no different. There were a lot of both, possibly more lows than highs.  To the best of my ability, I will try to recap 2014 for both TNA and WWE. Not too much cause I don't want these posts to be to wordy.

Let's start with the first part of the year. We had a single WWE world heavyweight champion. Randy Orton. Who was the golden boy of the Authority, and the face of the WWE. Despite all of that he probably wasn't the most popular WWE superstar, nor was John Cena. No that would be either CM Punk or Daniel Bryan.

Daniel Bryan popularity was white hot...but he was in a feud with Bray Wyatt that resulted in Bryan joining the Wyatt family for about 2 weeks and then it ended all of sudden. And what happened to CM Punk? Well you probably remember that. Of course going into the Rumble. A lot of fans wanted either CM Punk or Daniel Bryan to win. But neither of those men won the rumble.

Batista won the Royal Rumble which was disappointing and the crowd voiced that opinion. Actually they booed Batista and Rey Mysterio. Who boos Rey Mysterio? And of course not long after that CM Punk exited stage left and wasn't seen on WWE again. Which this is the part were I believe writing said "now what?" CM Punk leaving WWE, threw a huge wrench into WWE plans. I don't have conformation on that, but I'm sure they had him doing something major. But when he left that all changed. And at this point I think the YES movement was born.
